Scholarships for aeronautics and aerospace engineering
Several
scholarship programs are available for students seeking a master's degree in
aeronautics and astronautics and aerospace engineering. Some scholarships are
available to students in the United States. Others may be limited to students
of a particular gender or students attending specific institutions.
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
The
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA, for its acronym in
English) provides annual scholarships to undergraduate students pursuing
degrees in aerospace engineering. The AIAA Foundation scholarships are priced
from US $ 2,000 to US $ 2,500 per year and may be renewed for one or two years.
To be eligible, applicants must be sophomores, juniors or seniors and have a
GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. The annual deadline for registration is
January 31.
NASA
NASA
offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students through its
Scholarship Program Aeronautics. This generous scholarship offers
undergraduates a maximum of $ 15,000 in tuition assistance per year for up to
two years. Graduate students are eligible to receive US $ 11,000 in tuition
assistance per year for up to three years, and also receive an annual stipend
of $ 35,000. A undergraduates and graduate are also paid $ 10,000 to complete a
summer internship at NASA. Prospective applicants must apply online.
Scholarships for women
Several
scholarship programs aeronautical engineering limited to female applicants. The
Society of Women Engineers awarded several of these scholarships, including
